Offshore facilities have made a huge progress in the last decades, evoluting from fixed platforms to undersea production systems referring to all connections, equipment and pipes that are installed at sea bed. The selection and design of these production facilities are a complex task and this is possible nowadays thanks to new materials, protection systems and diving operations.
Offshore structures are designed for installation in the open sea, lakes, gulfs, etc., many kilometers from shorelines. These structures may be made of steel, reinforced concrete or a combination of both. Within the category of subsea structures, there are various types of structures, depending on their use and primarily on the water depth in which they will work, PLEMs, Subsea pipelines manifolds, and pipelines are all subsea structures and GPP provides installation services for all of them.
Subsea pipeline installation is a complex task that ensures integrity of the fluid transportation facilities form production field to export terminals or refineries. The complexity that characterizes the pipeline installation is based on the starting and ending points of the pipe, whether they are coast or a production facility offshore. The activities are related to the set-up of vertical pipe laying, horizontal pipe laying, line repairs, installation of anodes for the protection of lines, installation of sleeves, radiographic inspection and coating, hydrostatic testing, pipeline burial and decommissioning of wells, among others.
GPP has the necessary vessels, equipment, software and personnel to install pipelines from 2” to 26” as maximum overall external pipe diameter, and has alliance to widen the diameter up to 48” external overall diameter with its main partner, Zaramella & Pavan Construction Company, S.A.
